The chn have been taking care of the environment. They have been composting fruit peel from snack time, picking up litter from the garden and recycling at tidy up time. We have been reading ‘Maya and Marley and the Great Big Tidy Up’ by @laurahallain.bsky.social which really inspired the children.
“I recycle when I finish something” “Mama mi papa recycling. Me no” “I recycled some yoghurt pots” “You need to pick up your rubbish” “What time is tidy-up time?” “My dad drives the ambulance. He’s got a walkie talkie like that” “I see rubbish” “Paper goes in this box” “Cycling there”
“I can put the apple in the bucket” “This says food waste” “What’s compost?” “Can you show me where the compost is?” “The worms will eat the apple” “Can I eat the compost?” “I can see leaves” “It’s all muddy” “It’s mud” “I can see a snail”
