The children read books about hair and hairstyles. They acted out the story from @laurahallain.bsky.social ‘JoJo & Gran Gran Go to the Hairdresser’. They gathered props: a panda, combs and spray. “That me. That mummy” “Grandma” “Sit down” “I want a book to read” “Spray” “Dry” “Mummy cut my hair”
The children participated in World Afro Day. They explored hair resources – beads, brushes, curl sponges, gel and thread. Parents joined in and showed the children how they care for, and styled, their child’s hair. “I like pink. I want another one” “Hoya brushes my hair. Hoya put a clip in my hair”
“1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9. There’s 9 beads” “You have to pull the hair through and in” “I need to do dolly’s hair” “My mummy does my hair. Mummy is puts lots and lots of rainbow beads on me”
